Bushfire Management Overlay

The Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO) applies to land that may be significantly affected by extreme bushfires.

 

Whilst development in a Bushfire Prone Area (BPA) may only require a BAL assessment, developments in a BMO must obtain planning approval by complying with four bushfire protection measures: defendable space, bushfire construction, water supply (for fire fighting), and access (for emergency service vehicles).
